Why must I provide a credit card on file if I'm directly billing a third-party payer?

As stated in my consent form (attached), I charge for No-Show and Late Cancel sessions (less than 48h notice) up to the full amount of the session and third parties cannot be billed for this fee. I may also bill for indirect services (e.g. report writing, clinical records requests) that may not be covered by third-party payers.

Can I see you in person?

I only work virtually and have no plans at this time to work in person.  I am happy to refer you to another in-person provider if that would be more suitable for your needs.

What are your credentials?

You can find my complete resume here.  I have been in practice for 6 years, with a MA in Counselling Psych, and have 5 years of working interdisciplinary rehab clinics under the supervision of neuropsychologists.

I'm not comfortable logging a credit card. What can I do instead?

On the consent form for credit/debit cards, simply write "I do not consent" on the signature line and discuss with me other options.  I am happy to accept e-transfers within 24 hours of your appointment (before or after) at info@headwindscc.ca.

What is your current pricing?

$140+GST per hour ($147 total), or whatever the flat amount approved is for third-party payers.

What payment methods do you accept?

ICBC, BC Emergency Health Services, Canada's Game Plan: I am able to direct bill the full amount to these payers; no top up is charged to you as a client.

WorkSafeBC: with written approval from your claim handler, I can sometimes direct bill; however, more often than not, I will bill your method of payment and provide you a receipt for reimbursement.

Extended Health Plans: not all plans cover Registered Clinical Counsellors or Canadian Certified Counsellors, so check what your plan allows.  I am not able to directly bill at this time.  However I will provide a detailed receipt with all information required for submitting for reimbursement.

Private Pay: credit card or e-transfers are accepted.  I cannot accept cheque or cash.
